Do You Have An Event or Festival We Can Help With?

Elevation Group

Background

Elevation Group has diverted over 33,410 lbs of material since beginning their partnership with us in 2017.

We began our work with Elevation Group in 2017 at LaureLive Music Festival in Cleveland. Over the years they have expanded with more events in more states and we’ve grown with them. In 2022 we partnered on four events: WonderStruck, WonderRoad, Maplehouse Music Fest (currently WonderWorks), and Wonderbus. Each of these events is well attended seeing over 8,000 patrons a day. With our help these events achieve a 70% or higher diversion rate in the festival grounds during the event.

Recycle!

Most drink at the event are served in highly recyclable aluminum cans, or cups that are recyclable in most facilities. In 2022 we recycled 1.6 tons of aluminum cans.

Cardboard from drink packaging is collected from all the bars. In 2022 we recycled over 2 tons of cardboard from Elevation Group events.

Compost!

All food vendors are encouraged to use compostable serviceware. Compost frequently makes up 15-20% of the overall weight of waste diverted from Elevation Group events.

Across the festival grounds recycling and trash bins are paired with compost bin for public use. There is signage above our bins helping explain what can go into the compost. What is accepted by local facilities changes from place-t0-place and our team is dedicated to sharing the most up-to-date information with attendees, and making sure compost is clean.

Compost facilities we have used in Indianapolis, Columbus, Cleveland, and Pennsylvania have been pleased with the cleanliness of our compost and have welcomed us back for future events. This mean we can guarantee that our material is being composted locally, helping divert methane-generating waste from the landfill and turning food scraps into fresh fertilizers for gardens and farms.

Reuse!

Elevation group is committed to reducing plastic waste from entering the waste stream. At each event they partner with Quench Buggy to offer clean water refill stations for all attendees. By having water refill stations we estimate the festival diverts 392-500 lbs of plastic bottles or 3,840 plastic bottles from entering the waste stream.

Teamwork

We have worked with Elevation Group for 6 years across several events. Our teams have begun to anticipate one another’s needs, and through a great partnership we’ve been able to focus our efforts on waste diversion. Thanks to our partnership we were able to increasing our overall waste diversion by 1,000 lbs between our first and second years.

We hope to continue to see an increase in waste diversion as we more forward and find new ways divert waste.
